The body of a man has been found near Johnstown, Co Kilkenny this morning following an extensive search by Gardai and mountain rescue crews.

The body of a man has been found near Johnstown, Co Kilkenny this morning following an extensive search by Gardai and mountain rescue crews.

The body is believed to be that of a local man who has been missing from his home since Friday night.

The disappearance of the man sparked a massive search in the area by members of the Garda Siochana, civil defence, the South-east Mountain rescue team and locals.

The body of the man in his sixties was discovered just a half a mile from his home at Ballyspellan just after eleven o’clock this morning.
