Rescuers search for man who fell into River Fergus in Ennis at 2am

A search is underway in Co Clare for a man who is believed to have fallen into the River Fergus in Ennis.

A search is underway in Co Clare for a man who is believed to have fallen into the River Fergus in Ennis.

It is understood the man, who is believed to he in his twenties, entered the river at Club Bridge at around 2am this morning.

The alarm was immediately raised and a search got underway at first light this morning.

The Shannon based air-sea rescue helicopter is involved along with local gardaí and the civil defence.
