Man dies after attack at Dublin bus stop

Gardaí have begun a murder investigation after a man assaulted at a bus stop in Dublin City centre last Tuesday died from his injuries.

Gardaí have begun a murder investigation after a man assaulted at a bus stop in Dublin City centre last Tuesday died from his injuries.

36-year-old James Kavanagh from Malahide suffered fatal head wounds after he was attacked on the North City's Eden Quay before 9pm.

He had been in a critical condition in the Mater Hospital until his death last night.

Detectives from Store Street garda station say there had earlier been an incident between Mr Kavanagh and three others outside a pub.
