The Progressive Democrats have called on the Irish and British Governments to begin implementing aspects of their recent joint declaration on the North.
The document sets out proposed ways to implement all outstanding aspects of the Good Friday Agreement.
Party spokesperson Liz O'Donnell has also called on all parties in the North to engage with each other to push the peace process forward.
Ms O'Donnell said the cancelled Assembly elections should go ahead this autumn in order to avoid the development of a political vacuum.
