Eircom League to feature in FIFA 08 game

Electronic Arts and the FAI today announced that the eircom League of Ireland will feature for the first time in internationally acclaimed football videogame FIFA 08.

Electronic Arts and the FAI today announced that the eircom League of Ireland will feature for the first time in internationally acclaimed football videogame FIFA 08.

All 12 teams in the Premier Division of the eircom League of Ireland will be featured in the game.

“EA is delighted that Irish football will be proudly represented in the world renowned FIFA franchise this year. It’s a really exciting time for the FAI eircom League of Ireland, and we look forward to giving Irish football fans the opportunity to play the game as their favourite homegrown teams for the first time,” said Craig Auld, Ireland marketing manager for EA.

Fran Gavin, director of the FAI eircom League of Ireland said: “We are thrilled to be working with EA Sports to bring our league to a worldwide audience of millions.

“Having the eircom League of Ireland included in FIFA 08 is very exciting for supporters of the league, and it will also enable people around the world to play FAI eircom League of Ireland fixtures on their computer consoles.”

FIFA 08 is scheduled for worldwide release this Autumn on all major game platforms, including PlayStation, Ninetendo, Xbox and PC.
