Communications Minister and Green Party TD Eamon Ryan has said that the more information in the public domain in relation to the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) the better.
He was responding to reports that Fine Gael's Environment Spokesperson Phil Hogan has obtained documents under the Freedom of Information Act that link the Taoiseach to a state investment in the Irish Glass Bottle site.
They are said to show that Brian Cowen - who was Finance Minister at the time - gave consent to a €140m investment in 2006.
Yesterday Green Leader John Gormley rejected claims by Deputy Hogan of a "cover up" saying they were ridiculous and don't stand up to scrutiny.
Minister Ryan said it is normal that deals of these kind go through the Department of Finance, but added that the more information that is out there the better.
The Government is under increasing pressure to mount an inquiry into alleged failings at the DDDA following the leaking of three reports which failed to hold anyone accountable for failures which will cost the taxpayer millions of euro.
The reports also revealed that the DDDA failed to get the Irish Glass Bottle site valued before investing €109m euro in its sale. The value of the investment has now been written down to nil.
