Coventry manager Gordon Strachan has signed his former Leeds United team-mate, Phil Masinga, on a free transfer from Italian club Bari.

The 32-year-old South African striker - who played alongside Strachan for two years at Elland Road - has now signed a two-year deal with the First Division club, subject to a medical.

Coventry chairman Bryan Richardson told the club's official website: "Gordon knows the player very well from their time together at Leeds and he is an excellent signing for us. His experience will be invaluable."
