Man to be sentenced for series of sex assaults

A 47-year-old man is to be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court next month for a series of sexual assaults at a house in Co Galway.

A 47-year-old man is to be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court next month for a series of sexual assaults at a house in Co Galway.

The man, who can not be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty after a jury had been sworn in for his trial, to seven counts of sexual assault against a female at the house on dates between June 2005 and April 2009.

Mr Justice McCarthy ordered a victim impact report and registered the man as a sex offender.

He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on April 11.
