Irish hauliers pledge to prevent illegal immigration

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has agreed to support the Government's attempts to prevent illegal immigration.

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has agreed to support the Government's attempts to prevent illegal immigration.

Today, the IRHA said that it agreed with the Department of Justice and Public Enterprise in relation to the creation of a voluntary code of practice to stop illegal immigrants hiding in hauliers' vehicles.

Many Irish hauliers have been charged with assisting illegal immigrants even though they had no knowledge that they were doing so.
