Man charged with Co Offaly murder

A man has been charged with murdering 25-year-old Michael Rosney in Belmont, Co Offaly last Thursday night.

A man has been charged with murdering 25-year-old Michael Rosney in Belmont, Co Offaly last Thursday night.

At a special sitting of Nenagh District court this evening, Oliver Coleman, aged 34, from Clonisseen, Shannonbridge, was remanded in custody to appear before Athlone District Court next Friday.

Mr Rosney was shot dead at a party in a house in Belmont.

The court heard today that when charged with Mr Rosney’s murder, Mr Coleman replied: “I am sorry.”
