Post mortem examinations are due to be carried out today on the bodies of the elderly couple and their son found dead in their home in a rural Irish village.
The parents, John Joe Slater, aged in his 80s and Mary, in her late 70s, were found lying on the kitchen floor of the large house near the quiet village of Grangecon, in south-west Co Wicklow.
Their son Patrick, a local sculptor and metal worker in his 40s, was found dead beside them.
Gardaí said the alarm was raised at 11am on Monday after the family had not been seen for a number of days.
State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy is due to carry out autopsy examinations today.
The house remained sealed off as garda forensic teams continue their examination of the scene.
