An intelligence-led operation between the Revenue’s Customs Service and Gardaí has discovered around 400gms of cocaine - with an estimated street value of €28,000 - in Cork city.

An intelligence-led operation between the Revenue’s Customs Service and Gardaí has discovered around 400gms of cocaine - with an estimated street value of €28,000 - in Cork city.

The drug was found concealed within a pair of sandals and has lead to the arrest of a 22-year-old Nigerian female, who is currently being detained under drug trafficking legislation.

The cocaine is believed to have come from South Africa and the investigation is described as ongoing.
