Gardaí in Dublin have recovered three shotguns during a search at a National School in Kilmainham.

Gardaí in Dublin have recovered three shotguns during a search at a National School in Kilmainham.

The firearms and a small quantity of ammunition were discovered wrapped in plastic on the roof of the school on Basil Lane at 11.30am - following reports of suspicious activity on the school grounds in recent days.

The area was sealed off for a time for a forensic examination and Gardaí are appealing for information.
