Shamrock Rovers 1 Sligo Rovers 2

Shamrock Rovers' great week ended bitterly as they had two players sent off as Sligo scored twice in a dramatic finish at Tallaght Stadium to knock the Hoops off the top of the table.

Despite having right-back Pat Sullivan dismissed for a second booking on the hour mark, Shamrock Rovers took the lead a minute later when Gary Twigg headed home Rohan Ricketts' cross.

But Sligo stormed back into the game late on with midfielder John Russell equalising on 80 minutes, cutting in from the left to beat Ryan Thompson with a superb curling shot.

The Hoops then also had substitute defender Pat Flynn sent off in the 89th minute for a dreadful challenge on Iarflaith Davoren.

Sligo then won it in the first minute of stoppage time when substitute John Dillon headed home Joseph Ndo's cross.
