Waterford United’s new manager Brendan Rea will be hoping to end a run of 11 games without a victory when the Blues take on in-form Derry City at the RSC.

Waterford United’s new manager Brendan Rea will be hoping to end a run of 11 games without a victory when the Blues take on in-form Derry City at the RSC.

Rea hopes to have Kevin Doherty available again for the first time in a month after the club initially sent the player back to Shelbourne. However, Rea wants the defender back on loan and it is hoped that he will be able to play.

Derry, who are chasing Shamrock Rovers’ playmaker Pat McCourt, will be without Kevin Deery (ankle), Ruaidhri Higgins (knee) and Sean Hargan (suspended) as well as long-term trio Eddie McCallion, Damien Brennan and Eamon Doherty.
