Gardaí in Tipperary said this afternoon that a post mortem on the body of a man found dead in Thurles last night will not take place until after 6pm this evening.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau arrived at the scene today to carry out a forensic examination. The body has now been removed to Limerick Regional Hospital.
The body was discovered by a group out walking a dog in the Townspark area of the town yesterday evening.
Gardaí said they were treating the death as suspicious, but that the course of their investigation may change following the results of a post mortem.
They have issued an appeal for anyone missing a family member to contact Thurles Garda Station.
