British low-cost airline EasyJet has announced that it is bidding to take over the London-Belfast route abandoned by British Airways in the wake of the US attacks last month.
EasyJet has formally applied to authorities at Heathrow Airport for permission to take over the route.
The company said it will operate six return flights on the route every day.
BA will officials end the service on October 27th but EasyJet hopes to have secured permission to take over by then.
