Nine men have been arrested on suspicion of membership of the Real IRA terrorist group.

Nine men have been arrested on suspicion of membership of the Real IRA terrorist group.

The men were arrested in homes across Limerick city and county this morning.

The planned garda raids are continuing.

Searches of areas in the city and county are ongoing.

The nine suspects are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, at five garda stations across Limerick.
