Gardaí threatened with shotgun

Two gardaí were last night threatened with a shotgun as they attempted to foil a robbery at an off-licence at St Albans road, Dublin 8.

Two gardaí were last night threatened with a shotgun as they attempted to foil a robbery at an off-licence at St Albans road, Dublin 8.

One individual was armed with a shotgun and the other with a knife.

A small amount of cash and cigarettes were stolen from the premises at 9.15pm last night.

Gardai confronted the raiders as they left the premises but they managed to get away in a waiting car.

No arrests were made and there were no injuries.
