The ratings war between 'EastEnders' and 'Coronation Street' will become a family affair when actor Jamie Lomas, whose wife Kym plays Weatherfield regular Michelle Connor, arrives in Albert Square.
The former 'Hollyoaks' star will join the BBC One soap in summer playing recovering alcoholic Jake Stone.
Kym, a former member of Hear’Say, has been a familiar face in Coronation Street since 2006.
Lomas said: “I’m over the moon to be joining the cast of EastEnders.
"I have admired the show for many years and I can’t wait to start working with such a strong cast of actors. Jake Stone is a great character to play and I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into the role.”
The show’s executive producer Lorraine Newman said she expected Lomas to “make a big impact on screen” when he appears in August.
Marsh was previously married to former 'EastEnders' star Jack Ryder who played Jamie Mitchell in the soap.
