Tipperary beauty Rozanna Purcell is being tipped to be the first ever Irish winner of the Miss Universe title.

Tipperary beauty Rozanna Purcell is being tipped to be the first ever Irish winner of the Miss Universe title.

Never in the pageant’s 59-year history has Ireland won the crown, but according to bookmaker Paddy Power our odds are looking better than ever with Miss Lillies Bordello Rozanna Purcell representing us.

The brunette, who is being transformed and styled for the occasion by South American pageant expert Miguel Martinez, is now just 14/1 to win the pageant and just 5/2 to finish in the top five.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: "Not since the year Rosanna Davison won Miss World have we seen as much interest and support for Ireland in a beauty pageant.

"We think Rozanna is perfect as she is but with all the expert advice from pageant guru Miguel it’s sure to stand to her on the night. This could finally be Ireland’s year!"

The Miss Universe contest takes place on Monday, August 23, live from Las Vegas.
