A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in the early hours of this morning in Lurgan, Co Antrim.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in the early hours of this morning in Lurgan, Co Antrim.

Police were called to a house on Shankill Street at approximately half past two after reports of a disturbance, to discover that a man had been stabbed in the head.

He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

It is believed that the incident occurred as a result of an ongoing dispute between two families in the area.
