Two hundred Aer Lingus passengers stranded in Barcelona

More than 200 Irish passengers are still grounded in Spain after an industrial dispute closed down Barcelona Airport yesterday.

More than 200 Irish passengers are still grounded in Spain after an industrial dispute closed down Barcelona Airport yesterday.

They are due to fly home with Aer Lingus at 5pm this evening.

A further 200 Irish travellers are already on their way back to Dublin, after they were forced to spend the night in Barcelona.

A scheduled flight from Cork to Barcelona this evening will go ahead as normal.

Aer Lingus spokesman Dick Butler said that any passengers who have out-of-pocket expenses can lodge a claim on their return.
