A man in his 30's has appeared in court tonight charged with the murder of Romanian teenager Marioara Rostas.

Alan Wilson from New Street Gardens in Dublin 8, was brought before a special sitting of the Bridewell District Court tonight.

The body of 18 year old Marioara - who disappeared from Dublin City Centre four years ago - was found in January in the Wicklow Mountains.

It has emerged following a post mortem that she had been shot in the head - Gardai believe she was brutalised for several days before her death.

The murder is alleged to have taken place at a house on Brabazon Street in Dublin in January 2008.
