Rumours that Bono is to duet with Ed Sheeran at one of the English singer's Croke Park concerts this weekend have been dismissed – by Sheeran himself.
"I did look at their tour dates – I don't think they will fly back for me," he told a press conference at the Dublin stadium, hours before the first of two sell-out shows.
Speculation that Bono was to appear at Croke Park soared after Sheeran invited Elton John to sing with him at his trio of performances in Wembley last week.
Sheeran said today that, though he was on edge before the gigs in London, playing in Ireland caused less anxiety.

"I was very nervous for Wembley," he said.
"People were saying: 'Do you think you can do it?'. And I started to think: 'Well…I don't really know'.
"[But] the Irish crowd has always been the best. At Wembley people came to see if I could do it – in Ireland they are coming to have a good time."
Sheeran will play to some 160,000 over two evenings at the north Dublin venue.
He revealed that, had the opportunity arisen, he would have like to have performed even more dates here.
At one point, it was actually mooted that he follow-up the Dublin dates with open-air gigs in Cork and Limerick.
"There was a plan," he explained at the lunch-hour press conference.
"We were going to do Cork and Limerick – the places other than Dublin. I think that may happen next time."
Sheeran has been in Ireland since the middle of the week when he delivered a warm-up show at 300-capacity Whelan's.

"My gran is 91. I want to spend as much time with her as possible," he said.
