Four fishermen are recovering in hospital after being rescued from their burning fishing vessel earlier this morning.

The crew of the Jismonde, an Irish-registered vessel, managed to get onto their life-raft after the ship's engine caught fire off the south-east coast.

They were rescued by another fishing vessel in the area, the Ocean Pearl, before being airlifted to hospital in Waterford by the South East Coast rescue helicopter.

They are being treated for smoke inhalation and breathing difficulties.
