Manchester City midfielder Geovanni would like to continue his love affair with the club – but admits his future remains uncertain.
The 28-year-old’s one-year contract comes to an end this summer and, with City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson’s position still to be clarified by owner Thaksin Shinawatra, the Brazilian has revealed he will explore all avenues in pursuit of a new deal.
“It’s been a brilliant year and the fans have really taken me to their hearts,” Geovanni told the club’s website, www.mcfc.co.uk.
“Everywhere I go in Manchester they make me feel welcome and ask for pictures and autographs – they love me and I love them too.
“I would love to stay at the club, but as a professional footballer I have to consider all my options.
“Whether those options are in the UK, the Premier League or elsewhere we’ll have to see, but I hope to be able to sort out my future in the next couple of weeks.”
