Number of evictions from rented accommodation rises
There has been a dramatic rise in the number of people being evicted from private rented accommodation.
A report by Focus Ireland shows a 33% increase in the past year. Most of the evictions have come about as a result of rent hikes by landlords.
Labour Environment spokesperson, Eamon Gilmore, is demanding that the Government change the law regarding tenants rights.
