There have been emotional scenes at Dublin Airport on Team Ireland's return from the London 2012 Olympic games.
The athletes were reunited with their family members and friends shortly after 2pm this afternoon.
Team Ireland secured five medals at the London 2012 games, their best performance since Melbourne in 1956.
Boxer John Joe Nevin from Mullingar in Co Westmeath is thrilled with his silver medal.
Nevin said: "I am delighted to be back, glad to see my family and delighted with my medal.
"It is my third major medal, maybe I felt a little disappointed after the fight, but now I am thrilled with a silver medal."
Junior Sports Minister Michael Ring said that the country was very proud of all the Irish competitiors.
Mr Ring said: "This was a team and this team won five medals and to the medal winners I want to say congratulations.
"For the rest of the team, I want to say to you 'We're so proud of you, you gave it your best and you performed to the best of your ability and I want to thank you on behalf of the people of Ireland for the way that you performed.
"You are also heroes because you are part of the team and this was a team that went into London and did this country proud."
