Defence Forces investigate reports of Irish soldiers wounded in Lebanon

A Defence Forces spokesman confirmed this afternoon that an investigation was underway following reports that two Irish soldiers had been wounded in Lebanon.

A Defence Forces spokesman confirmed this afternoon that an investigation was underway following reports that two Irish soldiers had been wounded in Lebanon.

It has been claimed that their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in the south of Beirut.

The soldiers were sent to the country as part of a UN peacekeeping mission.
