School secretaries and caretakers across the country are to stage one-day work stoppages in pursuit of standardised rates of pay for school workers.
SIPTU and IMPACT say any school secretary employed after 1990 is paid out of a grant given to the school boards and many are earning little more than the minimum wage.
Many also receive no pensions, holiday pay or other conditions enjoyed by their co-workers.
The first in the series of planned regional work stoppages takes place on June 17 in Donegal.
