Gardaí have released a 40-year-old man who was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Sligo town yesterday.

Gardaí have released a 40-year-old man who was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Sligo town yesterday.

A 29-year-old man was injured in the attack, which happened at a house at Garavogue Villas in the early hours of the morning.

He was rushed to hospital, and is now in a stable condition.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
