The 16-year-old Athlone boy who died suddenly in his schoolyard on Friday afternoon is due to be laid to rest today.

The 16-year-old Athlone boy who died suddenly in his schoolyard on Friday afternoon is due to be laid to rest today.

Zeeshan Mohammed collapsed and died while involved in a kick-around with friends in the grounds of the Marist College.

Originally from Pakistan, he had just commenced his fifth-year studies.

Post mortem results on his body have not been released.

Zeeshan was one of four Irish schoolboys who suddenly collapsed and died in the space of just four days last week.
