Els' father-in-law passes away

Ernie Els, a stablemate and close friend of Darren Clarke, suffered another loss yesterday when his father-in-law died in Cape Town.

Ernie Els, a stablemate and close friend of Darren Clarke, suffered another loss yesterday when his father-in-law died in Cape Town.

Following a short illness Piet Weyneher died at the age of 87 just three days after Clarke’s wife Heather lost her battle with cancer.

Els’ wife Liezl left him at the US PGA championship in Chicago to fly to South Africa for the funeral.
