Gardaí search for diver missing off Galway coast

A search operation is underway for a man who went missing during an cave dive in County Galway.

A search operation is underway for a man who went missing during an cave dive in County Galway.

The diver, who is in his mid thirties, entered the cave near Gort at about 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The alarm was raised at about 9.30pm last night when he failed to resurface.

Another diver entered the cave at 11pm and spent two hours searching for the man, but was unsuccessful.

The Gardaí have been notified, and further searches are expected to be carried out to locate the missing man.
