Nine dead in German E.coli outbreak

Nine people have died and almost 300 people have fallen ill in an E.coli outbreak in Germany thought to be linked to imported organic cucumbers.

Nine people have died and almost 300 people have fallen ill in an E.coli outbreak in Germany thought to be linked to imported organic cucumbers.

The outbreak is confined in the main to the north of Germany.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the outbreak, but cucumbers from Spain are suspected to be the source.

Anyone returning from Germany with illness is urged to seek urgent medical attention.
