Raiders make off with cash after bank raid

There’s been a bank raid at the Bank of Ireland in Ballymahon, Co Longford.

There’s been a bank raid at the Bank of Ireland in Ballymahon, Co Longford.

It’s the second robbery at the bank in just over a year.

The three raiders entered the bank shortly before 8pm this evening, while business was still being conducted in the bank.

One of the raiders held a member of staff at gunpoint before demanding a sum of money which has not been disclosed

The raiders then fled the scene in the direction of Mullingar.

The Garda forensics team visited the scene and a full investigation has been launched into this robbery.
