Increasing numbers unable to meet mortgage payments

The number of people facing court in the North for failing to pay their mortgages has increased significantly in the second quarter of this year.

The number of people facing court in the North for failing to pay their mortgages has increased significantly in the second quarter of this year.

The Courts Service says a total of 929 writs and summonses were issued in the three months to June this year, a rise of 59%.

A total of 323 properties were re-possessed over the same period.
