Police in Iraq have arrested four men suspected of being involved in the kidnapping of Rory Carroll.

Police in Iraq have arrested four men suspected of being involved in the kidnapping of Rory Carroll.

According to Mr Carroll’s newspaper, The Guardian, police in Baghdad are holding four men and searching for four others in connection with the incident.

The Irish journalist has written a full account of his dramatic capture and 36 hours in captivity in today's edition.

He says he thought it was too good to be true when he was freed as he had feared he was going to be beheaded.

33-year-old Carroll is currently on his way back to Dublin to be reunited with his family in Blackrock.
