More people are grinding their teeth because they are stressed out by their finances.

The Irish Dental Association today said it had noticed an increase in the number of cases of teeth-grinding among its patients.

One in five people grinds his or her teeth, mostly at night. The symptoms include headaches, damage to your teeth, earaches and mouth and jaw pain.

The condition is linked to anxiety and stress, along with excessive smoking and too much alcohol and coffee.
