Taoiseach Brian Cowen has confirmed that arrangements are in place for him to make his cabinet resuffle this week.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen has confirmed that arrangements are in place for him to make his cabinet resuffle this week.

Brian Cowen will fill two ministerial vacancies created following the departure from office of Willie O'Dea and Martin Cullen.

He is also expected to create a new department of economic planning.

There is growing speculation that he will also appoint a second Green Party TD to his junior cabinet.

But Mr Cowen refused to say if his resuffle would be radical and wide-ranging.
