Oireachtas launches public consultation website
The Oireachtas has launched a new pilot scheme aimed at encouraging greater communications between the public and TDs.
Under the scheme, members of the public will be able to submit ideas about proposed legislation to a new oireachtas website.
By logging on to www.econsultation.ie, the public can read and give their views on new proposals relating to the broadcasting sector.
They can then see the Oireachtas communications committee considering these views and can actively participate in an online discussion about them.
Members of the public are also being invited to make suggestions on how to develop this communications tool.
