Van Nistelrooy to face West Brom

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy will face West Brom on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy will face West Brom on Saturday.

The Dutch striker is on the mend after missing the last two league matches because of a bruised foot.

“Ruud was doing some good running yesterday and that’s good news,” Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News.

“He says he is 100% now, so he will be okay for Saturday. He will play because he definitely needs games.”

Fellow striker Louis Saha also looks certain to feature in the match against the strugglers following a calf strain.

He played for the reserves on Monday and Ferguson said: “I have to think about some part of Saturday’s game for Louis.

“I am sure he will get a bit of the match. He will probably start as sub and he will come on.”
