A clean up operation is underway after Cork was hit by flash floods yesterday evening.
Roads in many areas around the county including Crosshaven, Passage West, Kinsale and Cobh were completely submerged in water following torrential downpours.
Up to 12 cars flowed down a hill in Passage West while a number of people were trapped in their houses.
Many homeowners and traders are facing into a major clean-up operation this morning and will be counting the cost of the damage done.
Carrigaline was one of the worst affected areas with some people having to be rescued from their cars.
