Bankrupt businessman Sean Quinn is to be a State witness in the criminal trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean Fitzpatrick and other former Anglo executives.

According to the Sunday Times, Quinn, his wife and their five adult children have been summonsed to appear as witnesses for the prosecution.

The Quinns are separately suing the State-run IBRC, formerly Anglo Irish Bank, over its alleged involvement in the collapse of the Quinn empire.
