Aidan O’Kane broke Cork City hearts with a late winner to put Linfield into their second Setanta Sports Cup final in three years against Drohgeda United back at Windsor Park on Mary 12.
Man of the match Joe Gamble failed to clear Jamie Mulgrew's cross and O’Kane stole in behind him to fire past Michael Devine from a tight angle.
The result was harsh on Cork who ran the game for long spells.
Admir Softic and Joe Gamble shot off traget before striker John O’Flynn and Denis Behan wasted two very scoreable chances.
O’Flynn was played clean through by skipper Dan Murray on 23 minutes but shot wide with only Alan Mannus to beat.
Behan then looked set to score on 36 minutes, but dallied to allow Jame's Ervin make a sliding tackle.
Cork continued to run the game in the second half with Colin O’Brien hitting the bar before Mannus made a sublime stop from Behan.
