It is understood the youngster, thought to be aged between two and three years old, fell from the sixth floor of the Strand Hotel on the Ennis Road at about 1pm yesterday afternoon.

The is normally reserved for functions and was not in use at the time of the fall, and it is unclear why or how the child came to be there.
