Brennan expects taxi regulator by July

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has said he expects a regulator for the taxi industry to be appointed by July.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has said he expects a regulator for the taxi industry to be appointed by July.

Mr Brennan told the Oireachtas Transport Committee that the job had been offered to a suitable candidate.

The minister was called before the committee to answer questions on the Taxi Hardship Report drawn up in the wake of the deregulation of the industry in 2000.
