Hundreds of people will march in Dublin later today to protest against the lack of support for homeless people.

Action groups and campaigners have accused the Government of ignoring the growing homeless crisis and failing to invest in services to help the increasing numbers of homeless people.

They say there are now over 5,000 people living on the streets.

They are appealing to the Government to double last year’s investment in the homeless services to €100m.

The Editor of the "Street Seen" magazine Mark Grehan has described the Government’s lack of action as criminal.

He said that more drugs rehabilitation services, respite beds and counselling services are urgently needed.
