Coastguard rescue teams are on standby in Co Kerry, after a Cargo ship destined for Bordeaux got into difficulty near Dingle bay.

Coastguard rescue teams are on standby in Co Kerry, after a Cargo ship destined for Bordeaux got into difficulty near Dingle bay.

The vessel had been adrift off the coast without power, but has since managed to restart its engines and cut its anchor cables.

It's now expected to head for shelter in Foynes port in Limerick.

A spokesperson for Valentia Coastguard said the situation is still being monitored and crews are on standby in case of further difficulties.
